Barely 21 days after we had our feast at Tasty Pot, we had a gathering at Momo Paradise. You’re right! It’s steamboat buffet again. Surprisingly, everyone (including myself) was punctual and arrived at plus minus of 2 minutes. We were worried that it’ll as crowded and noisy as Yuen’s but it’s not. It reminded me of Shabu Shabu King that used to operate in SS2 PJ, with its clean and fully air conditioned environment. The right hand side of Momo are seatings by the conveyer belt circulating all sorts of steamboat ingredients
As for the other seatings which were not near to the conveyer belt, the waiters will push carts around and let you take your own sweet time to choose the ingredients. Basically this is the kind of buffet shop that you don’t have to move your butt around (except when the nature calls, of course). Cool!
Like usual, Taukeh Gan threw all the whatsoever ingredients he can gets his hands on, into the pot then indiscriminately distribute the food to us like a poor father feeding his hungry kids. Unfortunately his good deed backfired when most of the food were overcooked, soggy and the plain soup literally turned into chowder (with seaweed!).
The waiters were attentive and somehow very enthusiastic to push the ready to eat items to us. Nothing to complain about anyway as some of them taste fairly good.
In short, here’s some of the items that I remember available in Momo:
Fish balls, Pork balls, Beef balls – they have dozens of them!
Some of the meatballs and fishcakes have cheese fillings in them.
All sorts of vegetables (as usual, I have hard time to name them)
Clams
Prawns
Squids
Fish fillet
Sliced beef
Sliced pork
Black fungus
Seaweeds
Yong Tau foo
Scallops
Mussels
As for some of the ready to eat items, I’m afraid you’ll have to refer to the pictures cause I don’t even know what they were called.
For RM25 nett per person, I’m already planning my next return to the place now. If only they could provide crabs, then that’ll be double the shiok!
The beef and pork that were so thinly sliced that we only need to stir them around in the pot for 2 seconds to get them cooked. Nice, even though I would recommend you marinate them with little soy sauce before cooking them. Taste even better!
All types of cakefish and balls. Some of them even have cheese fillings inside.
Tomyam soup and clear soup. I prefer the clear soup.
Minced meat rice. Not bad.. Very Taiwanese feel…
I think they have around 15 types of sauces. Garlic sauce and their special homemade sauce top my favourite list!
Ready-to-Eat items :
I mistook these as ready to eat items and JM ended up eating raw stuffs! Sorry…
Here’s the direction I got from Google Maps (I modified a little). It works for me, so I think it should work for you too. I use One Utama Shopping Center as starting point.
From One Utama, turn into Lebuhraya Damansara – Puchong (LDP) heading towards Kepong direction. Pass the toll and make a U-turn at the 1st big crossroad you meet. Slight left at Jalan Burung Hantu. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Pesiaran Dato Shamsuddin Naim. Turn right at Jalan 1/62A. Turn right at Jalan 7/62a. Turn right at Jalan 5/62a. Turn right at the 3rd cross street to stay on Jalan 5/62a. Take the 1st left to stay on Jalan 5/62a. Destination will be on the right. Maybe looking at the map will give clearer view.
