Bavarian Bierhaus, The Curve

Guten Tag! Wie geht es Ihnen? Ich bin ausgezeichnet.

Translation : Good day! How are you? I feel great.

These are the very few German I can write out based on my level one German which I took up during university days. In fact, while lot of people thinks that fraulein is my glamour or English, it’s actually a simple nickname that means ‘young lady’ or ‘miss’ in German.

For CS’s birthhday, I dragged him to Bavarian Bierhaus which he seemed to prejudiced earlier due to some reasons but I was just so smitten by their beer that I don’t care.

In this bierhaus, it’s all about Mr Porky, from the baby back ribs, roast pork belly to bratwurst (sausage), and yes the famous German pork knuckles. CS never have likings for pork knuckles cause he thinks they’re dry and coarse, and since I can’t finish one all by myself, we ordered a Combo Mix Grill and one Baby Pork Ribs for 2 pax.

My 0.5CL Hoegaarden beer was huge that threaten to expose my extra human belly. As usual, I enjoyed the draft beer very well as it don’t have the bitter taste as in Carlsberg. CS greedily had the first sip even before I could touch the glass.

When CS wanted something non-alchoholic, I helped him to pick this strawberry milk shake out of impatience to have my food. It turned out to be one very smooth, creamy and the strawberry taste rather natural to me, unlike some that tasted like cough syrup.
Our Combo Mix Grill have this Sour Cabbage and Baked Potato beneath the sausages, ham and bacon. The baked potatoes were delicious but the sour cabbage is just so not my cup of tea. (Mind this, cup of tea is not used to describe guys or girls only).

The Combo Mix Grill portion is big and by the time we finished it, we started to have doubt on our ability to finish the Baby Pork Ribs. Nonetheless, a combo mix grill is a not-to-miss item for any meat lovers that want to dine here.

The Baby Pork Ribs was prettily done but with hardly any charred parts. Meat was soft though I still found it too pretensive and difficult to eat them with forks and knife that I really feel like want to grab them using my hands. Of course, I didn’t do that. As we usually prefer stronger flavored food, the ribs taste a little bland at some parts and we were craving for more sauce.
The sinful Baby Pork RIbs have some hidden treasure beneath it; the yummy grilled mushrooms!

As expected, dining in Bavarian Bierhaus didn’t come cheap and our bill was around RM180 and service charge and tax were big chunks of it. Since we’re eating a 3 pax portion of food and the meal was overall an enjoying one with great beer, I would definitely return!
