Umaiya group is no stranger to anyone liking Japanese buffets and their latest outlet offering such indulgence is Aoki Tei at Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara. It is an all-you-can-eat concept with all the food prepared to order. All you have to do is fill in the order chit and pass to the waiter.
The pricing at Aoki Tei were RM58++ for lunch and RM78++ for dinner (during our visit), with discount for kids & senior citizens. On top of the food, there are free flow of beer for lunch and beer & sake during dinner. A personal opinion though, free flow beer with a big amount of food will make you uncomfortably bloated.
As usual, we started with sashimi plate – 2 portions for each fish. Nothing very top notch about it but for RM58++ per person, it was not too shabby.
Surprisingly, I found the cooked food score even better in terms of taste, and a few honorable mentions will be the grilled tiger prawns, beef skewers and the shishamo (grilled smelt fish).
Aoki Tei’s matcha ice cream is just right with minimal bitter-aftertaste.
